Genesis
PMSHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Dholchera was established in the Year 1986 mainly to provide School education to the Children of BSF Employees and other transferable Central Government Employees. Though the Vidyalaya was initially sponsored by BSF, a good number of local children including children of nearby tea garden staff also avail educational facility of the Vidyalaya. The school started it’s journey in a temporary complex inside the Dholchera BSF campus. It shifted to it’s current permanent location in 2009 and was also accorded the status of a Civil KV school the same year
PMSHRI KV Dholchera is situated in the evergreen foothills of the famous Barail Hills in South Assam’s Barak valley. It exists in a remote place 20 KMs away towards northwest of Silchar town. The School has successfully created a great educational awareness among the people around it and has been playing a substantial role in the all round development of the location.
Every year the Vidyalaya successfully participates in Regional Science Exhibitions, Social Science Exhibitions, games and sports activities. The location of the Vidyalaya is very serene, peaceful and away from hustle and bustle of busy city life. It is green all around and the atmosphere is healthy; free from all types of pollution.
Last year, the KV Dholchera has been brought under the PMSHRI scheme which has greatly benefited the school infrastructure; the school is upgrading its facilities by leaps and bounds to accentuate the academic and co-curricular needs of the learners, and aims to work in line with the vision of the PMSHRI to guide students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.
